How easy or difficult is it really to remove Malware?
February 23, 2011 Computer Safety Tip
Removing malware from an infected PC requires an investment in time and a lot of hard work. When a technician is
presented with an infected PC, one of two things will happen:
- The tech will be lucky, and successfully remove the malware straight away. Yet a time consuming operation can leave doubt that the computer is actually clean. It’s worth noting that at times the actual cure can be worse than the existing problem itself.
- The tech won’t be lucky. In extreme cases, the tech will have no choice but to format the hard drive, which will be extremely time-consuming. The Operating System will also need to be reinstalled, as well as any other software and devices.
It’s thus crucially important for any person to keep all files and software on his PC fully and regularly backed up.
