June 9, 2010 Windows 7 Tips

So, you feel its time to empty out the clutter on your PC, so what better way than to simply clean out all those unnecessary folders and files. With Windows 7, there is a much simpler way then to merely select the >Ctrl_Select< method.

When in Windows Explorer, Windows 7 allows the user to select files using check boxes. By simply selecting the files you want, by selecting the check box next to that particular file, gone are the days of the >Ctrl< key.

To begin, you will need to navigate yourself to the folder you would like to work with. Next select >Folder Options< from the >Tools< menu list.

Once the >Folder Options< box is displayed, click on the >View< tab, scroll down under >Advanced settings< until you find the >Use check boxes to select items< option. Select that particular check box next to that item to turn it on. Click >Apply< and then click >OK<.

Once this is all completed, you will notice that when you hover your mouse over a filename, a check box displays to the left of that filename. To select hat particular file, simply select the check box.

Simple to use, and oh so easy to manage – Windows 7 has got it right this time!
