No Bundled Adobe Flash With Firefox
It was recently discovered earlier this week that Google intends to integrate none other than Adobe Systems Flash with
the Chrome browser. Google has declared that it wants this to happen as soon as possible. Google has actually already gone as far as bundling the specific plug-in with Chromes specific developers build. Mozilla on the other hand, is not interested in the concept of integrating its browser with Adobe Flash.
According to the open source outfit in an email to The Reg: “Mozilla has no current plans to bundle Flash with Firefox downloads,” It was also them claimed in the same email:”Mozilla has always made it easy to install Flash and other plug-ins via the Automatic Plugin Finder Service, which has been part of Firefox for years.”
The one element which differentiates Google from other browser makers is the factor that Google actually automatically updates its browser without the approval of the users, and the integration of Flash will become part of this silent update. It has also been claimed that it will also include Flash content within the sandbox of Chrome. This will actually restrict certain system privileges of the browsers rendering engine.
One of the debates which continue to take place is that it is not certain as to the factor of Google allowing it’s users to prevent the Chrome browser from actually installing Flash. It will be fascinating to see what happens and if this is or is not going to take place in the future.
Google is currently in the process of improving their browser plug-in model which will actually make it much easier for plug-ins to be both fast and secure. According to latest news reports it has been concluded that Mozilla has started with a Firefox developer preview which actually works with the running of Flash as well as plug-ins, with a separate process. Only time will tell which browser will be browsed with the most.
