Running Programs as Administrator in Windows 7
A new feature has just been unveiled by Microsoft with regards to Windows Vista and Windows 7. This feature will
separate the Administrators from the normal everyday users.
When a user attempts to run one program over and over, there will inevitably be a request for Admin privileges. I order to make it so a particular program always runs with Admin privileges – but with no more hassle of the continual notification message, follow the steps below:
- Right click on the program you wish to grant continual administrative privileges
- Go to >Properties< Compatibility Tab<
- At the end of the compatibility tab, you will find the following check box:
- >Run this program as an administrator<
- Just check the check box and click >OK< and then again >OK<.
- This will grant administrative privileges to that program permanently
- (See screenshot below for example)
Should you want to allow for Administrative privileges for all users of a computer system, simply do the following:
- Check out the >compatibility< tab and click on >Change settings for all users<
- Click on the check box which says: >Run this program as administrator<
- There you go – all programs should run as Administrator for all users now.
