Shutdown Desktop Icon
April 3, 2009 Windows Vista Tips
Windows Vista has introduced a new shutdown method which involves several clicks to restart or turn off the PC. If
you want to speed this process up it is possible to place an icon on your desktop which will shutdown or restart your PC.
To do this, right click on your desktop and click New then Shortcut. Then type in shutdown -s-t O as the item location and click NEXT. Give the icon an easy name to remember, such as Shutdown and click Finish.
Now check your Desktop and you`ll have your shutdown icon. If you want to make the icon restart rather than shutdown, type in shutdown -r-t O instead.
