“Super Phisher” Used For Phishing

It has recently been reported by Trendlabs that a new tool which is geared towards phishing has been discovered. This tool goes by the name “super phisher” and it allows a user to be able to create a copy of a legitimate target login page and then upload it onto a certain hosting site.

Once the criminal has gotten the victim to this phishing version of the site and the login information has been entered, a php file that has been dropped, in order to actually receive this specific information. This is besides the factor that the login credentials are actually saved into a log file. You can imagine the harsh ramifications that may be caused due to this malicious scam.

The problem is that these sites will appear exactly the same an authentic site which makes it very difficult for computer users to be able to determine the difference. Computer users are urged to always check the URL of a website. If anything is suspicious it is going to be within your best interest to check the URL in order to make sure that the site is authentic. It is also suggested that if the site appears suspicious in any manner that you shouldn’t click the link no matter what the circumstances may be. It is going to be within every computer users best interest to take computer security seriously and to always remain aware at all times.

Phishing activities are taking place at an alarming rate and more and more people across the globe are being fooled. The fundamental issue with regard to phishing sites is that once an online criminal has obtained your log in details as well as your banking details, the sky is the limit for them in cyberspace.

In order to avoid becoming the next victim of a phishing attack it is suggested that computer users browse safely and avoid any links that may appear suspicious. New phishing scams are taking place all the time and all we can do is be aware of them and try to not become victims. One of the biggest phishing scams is related to online banking websites where fraudsters will create banking sites that look authentic and then ask for your information, claiming that they are simply updating your information. The key element is not becoming the next victim is to always have a level of awareness at all times.
