System Check – The Biggest Error of the Month

January 4, 2012 Computer Safety Tip

Back in November a lot of computer users worldwide have complained about being infected with System Fix. Unfortunately, the end of the FakeHDD rogue terror is nowhere near, because yet another version of System Fix has appeared recently and it is called System Check. This new clone of the fake computer optimization program is just as dangerous as and perhaps even more annoying than its predecessor, thus you have to remove System Check from your computer at once.

You should not find this infection very surprising even if you think that your computer is protected from various threats, because System Check is able to exploit various computer system vulnerabilities in order to infiltrate it. Most of the time, it makes use of fake online malware scanners. When a user lands on an infected website he is urged to perform a quick system scan, but the scan in question only “detects” errors, but cannot specify them. Then you are pushed into downloading System Check, because only after the installation the computer “optimization” program can tell you what errors are plaguing your computer exactly.

Needless to say, that the hard drive, system registry, RAM memory and other errors reported by System Check are not real. For example, you might receive such messages as these:

Critical Error
Hard drive critical error. Run a system diagnostic utility to check your hard disk drive for errors. Windows can’t find hard disk space. Hard drive error.

Critical Error
Hard drive clusters are partly damaged. Segment load failure.

Keep in mind that all the pop-up notifications received from System Check are generated in order to steer you into buying the full version of the rogue. This fake program slows down your computer and hides your files, blaming all of these symptoms on some non-existent errors. It is easy to follow the instructions given by System Check, because any user would want his files and computer back to normal, but if you reveal your credit card number, expiration date and CVV2 code on the System Check’s purchase page, your bank account will be accessed immediately and you will lose your money.

Do not let this happen and terminate System Check right now. Even though you can find manual removal instructions, manual removal is not recommended for those users who are not very familiar with their computer’s system. Do not hesitate to invest in a reliable security tool that will take care of this infection for you. Your computer’s security should be your utmost priority.
