Temporarily Disable Sleep Mode in Windows with Insomnia
November 22, 2010 Computer Tips And Tricks
We all know that sleep mode may be useful sometimes. This helps us in cases where we may want to save the batteries
of out laptops. The problem is that nobody actually wants to have to wait for the entire startup routine to happen. The majority of laptop users actually set their computers to sleep after five minutes where no activity is taking place. The truth is that the Windows default is actually only 15 minutes, when it is plugged into a certain power source.
Sometimes sleep mode can be irritating and extremely inconvenient. This occurs in cases such as watching a DVD or doing a presentation. The good news is that Microsoft’s Insomnia is a free application that you won’t need to pay a cent for. It has been created in order to specially solve this problem without having to reconfigure your power settings.
You need to know that Insomnia may download as a zip file. You will then need to extract this file; you will need to just double click on the green button which looks like a pill icon and then the program will start. It is as simple as that and it will really help you prevent frustration.
When it is open fully, then the application will appear as a pop up Windows, It will claim that the computer can’t enter sleep mode while the Window is open.
If you know a lot with regard to computers or work in the field then I have provided these source codes for you. Everyone else reading this don’t need to feel bad if they don’t understand it as not everyone does.
I wish you all the best of luck and I seriously hope that I have helped you with some problems that you may also have. Please send me any comments, thoughts, suggestions or advice in this regard.
