After Windows updates have been installed you are going to have to reboot your entire computer system. Now for me personally I find this irritating as sometimes I am busy chatting to someone on the internet or I am busy with applications that are open and that I don’t want to close. I have searched everywhere in order to find a solution and some steps to rectify this problem. Check this out and let me know if this helps you in any way.

1. Click the Orb (Start Button).

2. Go to the Search programs and files textbox and input regedit.

3. Select regedit.exe from the results.

4. When the UAC prompt appears, click the Yes button.

5. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Polices\Microsoft\Windows

6. In the right pane, right-click an empty area.

7. Click New and select Key.

8. Name the newly created key WindowsUpdate.

9. In the left pane, right-click the newly created WindowsUpdate.

10. Click New and select Key.

11. Name the newly created key AU.

12. Making sure that the new key is selected in the left pane, right-click an empty area.

13. Click New and select DWORD (32-bit) Value.

14. Name the newly created DWORD NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers.

15. Right-click the newly created DWORD and click Modify.

16. In the Value date textbox, make the value 1 and click OK.
